Just another blustery day in Paragon?
I woke slowly, as I usually do and headed into the kitchen for some milk. I still have to
remind myself that I can drink out of a glass now and am no longer under scrutiny if I act
more human. Though my tail still twitches when I am delighted or angry. Glancing at the clock, I notice that it is a little past noon. Ah, yesss, I purr, morning is good, but time to get to work. I battle my computer (confounded human contraptions) for access to my email. Hey, look an email from Shatter to meet in Prometheus Park for a surprise party. It's Myster Fixit's birthday! Good a reason as any to get up early and go fight crime and corruption in the city. I quickly shower (now THIS is a human tradition I like, though my parents would have been appalled) and get out the door. Man, I cannot wait until I learn to fly - this slow hover is getting on my nerves. Once in Prometheus Park we all wait anxiously for Myster Fixit to arrive. Brava makes a brief appearance to teleport some of the farther-reaching, slower folks directly to us so we can properly astound our poor leader. At a little after one o'clock, Myster Fixit shows up and boy did we all floor him! He was so totally unprepared for this. And it was great to see him flabbergasted. Once he got done with all the "Thank Yous" and greetings we headed over to Perez Park for a little butt kicking - Fixit Force style! We had a BLAST! We targeted many groups of Hellions and Outcast. We took on HUGE groups of Vahziloks. There was this one group that, boy, if I hadn't had a few quick chances to catch my breath, we would have lost a couple team members. I think I stretched my healing powers to the ultimate maximum that day. These guys were tough. No matter where we turned there were more coming. I almost got squashed myself, but Shatter and Eagleman were looking out for me. One thing we did was finish an assigned mission that Myster Fixit had. He was given the duty to find and rescue a missing fortuneteller. I'll tell you - WE almost became missing just trying to find the place. We searched the woods in the park for quite a while before Eagleman finally found the entrance. Even then, since Brava had already left, we all had to wind our way through the trees and criminals to find the caves. Once inside the caves we found that it was the meddlesome Circle of Thorns group that had taken this poor person hostage. We wound through tunnels and passageways subduing and apprehending Guards and Life Mages. I tell you what, those damn Energy Mages are tough. I couldn't keep my endurance up for very long and I fell behind the others more often than I wanted to. Again, thankfully we have a very cohesive and well-rounded team. Once the fortuneteller was on her way home safely, one of our team said that he had heard of Hydras on the far side of the lake. Well of course we had to go check it out! I had never seen a Hydra before and was as anxious as some of the others to do battle for good against these obviously evil and criminalistic creatures. The battles were magnificent! We pounded on them and they tried to pound back (often times succeeding!). We managed to take out quite a few of them. As a last effort in the day, we all decided to try one last mission for another teammate. Please forgive me, I’m only a cat – names are not what I remember! This one was in the city, so we all had to trek our way out of the wilds in the middle of the park to – I think it was Steel Canyon, but I cannot remember now. I had a difficult time. Shatter and I went up to the treetops to navigate our way out that way and I still got lost. I allowed myself to trip over a few branches and tumble gracefully to the ground a couple times. But only because I wanted to see what was down there. In the end we all managed to get out okay – tired but okay. So, we then all head to this abandoned office building. "Trust me, we can handle this no problem," we get told. Uhm – is this the part where I hiss and raise my hackles? We entered the building and, even though I have learned the ability to cloak myself, we ALL got blasted almost back to oblivion! And I thought the Outcast and Circle in the park were tough! There was a Sorcerer there who seemed to know every move we were thinking. We managed to get outside the door again, but as soon as we went back in – he was right there waiting for us! I couldn’t stop myself from growling and hissing. "I DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK IN THERE!", I said though a low growl. A good fight is one thing – this, however, was turning into senseless slaughter – OUR senseless slaughter! After some heated discussion we, as a group, decided to wait on this one a bit. The day waned with us all blissfully tired from our excursions. We had fought and triumphed over many foes this day and could go home and curl up with pride in a job well done. I wish I could remember the names of all the people I met that day. There was so much going on. I do know we all had a great time and I think it was more than just a birthday party, I think it made us more of a team. Fixit Force, a name to remember! Come to think of it, this might have happened over two days. Eh, what do I know – I’m only a cat! Mom, Dad, I wish you were still around to read these journals. I miss you both so much. Your loving kitten, Selena.
